New trends on Foliated and Stratified Spaces: Topology, Geometry and Analysis. Commemorating the 70th birthday of Xosé M. Masa

This workshop will focus on the new research trends on foliated and stratified spaces, involving tools mainly from Algebraic Topology, Topological Dynamics, Differential Geometry and Global Analysis. We also take this opportunity to commemorate the 70th birthday and retirement of Prof. Xosé M. Masa.

It will be held in the Mathematics Building of the University of Santiago de Compostela, during Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 of June 2018

The invited speakers are: Steven Hurder (Univ. Illinois, Chicago), Yuri Kordyukov (Russian Acad. Sci., Ufa), Carlos Meniño (Univ. Federal Fluminense, Niteroi), Hiraku Nozawa (Ritsumeikan Univ., Shiga), María Ángeles de Prada Vicente (EHU, Bilbao), Agustí Reventós i Tarrida (UAB, Barcelona), José Ignacio Royo Prieto (EHU, Bilbao), Daniel Tanré (Univ. Lille).

There is also an advanced course about the same topics during the previous days, Advanced Course on Geometry, Topology and Global Analysis of Foliated Spaces. You may find intereasting to participate on both events.

Activity co-organized by the Spanish Topology Network and co-financed by the MTM2015-69385-REDT project of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

News:

  1. Unfortunately, Daniel Tanré won't be able to come. Instead, Marta Agustín Vicente will talk about a similar topic.
  2. The workshop dinner will be on Monday 18, at 21:00, in Hotel Palacio do Carme.
  3. The registration will be at 9:00 on Monday 18 (half hour earlier than announced before), so that there will be time a short welcome.
  4. The workshop will be in the "Salón de Graos" of the Math building.
